RC Alimentación
RC Alimentación SLU is the holding company that owns the shares of the various subsidiaries and investee companies of the CEOSA food group. Its main affiliate is Ibérico Sierra de Azuaga S.A., located in Azuaga (Badajoz), which makes and markets top-quality Iberian hams and cured meats from Extremadura. The slaughter, quartering and curing of all of its products takes place entirely within its manufacturing facilities.
As a result of the strategic plan drafted for the company while at the height of the downturn in 2009, an active process was begun to seek out opportunities to integrate with other industry companies so as to combine commercial and operating synergies as part of an effort to combat the competitive and market situation. In late 2009, CEOSA, which until then had owned 70% of the company, became the sole shareholder of RC Alimentación SL and its affiliates when it bought out the minority shareholder.
Effective 1 January 2010, the José Rubia S.A. subsidiary of RC Alimentación SLU was sold to Campodulce Curados SL, a subsidiary of Grupo Jorge SL.
The sale of the commercial inventory to Campodulce Curados SL of its subsidiary José Rubia S.A. in 2010, resulting from the agreement to sell said company, yielded over 11 million euros.
The cooperation between both companies also materialized in the form of a general agreement that was entered into by the two companies, effective until late 2012, to cooperate in slaughter, quartering and curing activities for ham products to supply Campodulce Curados S.L.
As of 31 December 2010, the staff numbered 41 employees, 4.9% of whom suffered from some type of disability.
