Alentis
The Alentis Group, a service company of the ONCE Business Corporation, combines various companies and business activities under a single brand and relies on a multiservice model to offer all-in-one solutions in the areas of security, systems, cleaning and environment, pest control, landscaping and gardening, building maintenance, auxiliary services, driving education and fire prevention.
The 2010 FY was characterized by a continuation of the financial crisis in most of the sectors in which Alentis operates. Business volumes either stagnated or experienced losses, resulting in a severely competitive marketplace that affected the group’s margins.
It should be noted that the efforts made in 2009 to control structural costs, efforts that culminated in 2010, served to offset the negative effects of the drop in profits. The year 2010 saw the completion of several action plans that resulted in changes to the organization, its procedures and its computer systems. Various cost control and reduction measures were also implemented.
From the point of view of sales, Alentis increased its billing in Spain with respect to the previous year by 17 million euros to 326 million euros. In terms of the different activities, of note is the growth in the areas of commercial cleaning (20%), full-service maintenance (13%) and landscaping (24%), activities that all saw percentage increases well above the industry average. The other activities continue to be affected by the financial situation, with a drop in billing that translated into decreased profitability over the reporting period.
The Alentis Group workforce totaled 21,111 employees at the end of 2010, of whom 1,522 had some kind of disability.
