Viajes 2000
VIAJES 2000 is CEOSA’s in-house travel agency. In addition to handling the business, institutional and leisure trips for the ONCE Group, it also boasts a broad portfolio of outside clients. It specializes in offering accessible trips through its website, www.viajes2000accesible.es.
In 2010, the agency saw a significant increase in the turnover for its Accessible Tourism product line as the result of collaborative agreements with leading associations for persons with disabilities.
On 19/05/2010, the agency founded a Special Employment Center that, on 08/06/2010, received the corresponding administrative denomination as “Viajes 2000 Special Employment Center”, which is listed as center no. 734 in the Registry of Special Employment Centers of the Balearic Islands, and whose bylaws specify that its activity, among others, shall be the sale of travel services to companies.
The agency operates in a very competitive environment, where the market is dominated by large, vertically integrated networks of travel agencies, which tends to lower the profitability of the operations. To combat this, the company will continue to diversify its sources of income by developing its Accessible Tourism business line, by launching its special employment center, through online sales and by enhancing its sales structure so as to increase turnover.
The after-tax result showed a loss of 71,624€, versus a loss of 408,202€ in 2009. This improvement was due primarily to a lower non-payment rate among customers and to a significant reduction in structural costs.
As of 31 December 2010, its staff numbered 49 employees, 7 of whom were disabled.
