20/1/2009

Grupo Alentis’s five business lines selected by Real Madrid’s Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors of Real Madrid have hired CEOSA’S Grupo Alentis to provide security, integrated maintenance, access control, cleaning, and gardening services at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, the sports village, and the Vista Alegre basketball pavilion. The selection process was a tender organised by an external consultancy firm.
Five business lines in Grupo Alentis –Vinsa Seguridad, Pilsa Limpieza, V-2 Servicios Auxiliares, Mantenimiento Integral, and Medio Ambiente– will be involved in this integrated management project, creating jobs to over 800 professionals.
Vinsa is to provide security services on a daily basis at the stadium, the sports village, and the shopping area, as well as in Vista Alegre. During games and events organised by Real Madrid, security will be reinforced with over 400 people. In addition, the company is to provide personal protection as required by the club and contribute to security improvement in all Real Madrid facilities and for the club’s staff.
Pilsa, the Group’s cleaning company, will now consolidate the efficient services provided  to the club. The company will be in charge of commercial cleaning in the areas requiring this service, such as grandstands, common areas, living areas, trophy rooms, basketball pitches, shops, and so on.
V-2 Servicios Auxiliares will offer information and guiding services in tours of the Bernabéu stadium, the shopping area, and the sports village. In addition, it will be in charge of visitor reception and accreditation in offices, mailing, reception in the stadium’s noble areas and the sports village, and hostesses. The staff hired for these services on game days and for special events will be over 400.
Alentis’s Integrated Maintenance Department will control all club facilities, giving sport to all events organised by Real Madrid in the stadium, the sports village, and the basketball pavilion. The company is to implement Computer-Assisted Maintenance Management (GMAO), a software tool to manage non-technical maintenance tasks, such as installation inventory control, coordinate maintenance tasks performed on a regular basis, issue work orders, and gather information for ongoing process improvement. This innovative system involves the support of 30-strong team (engineers, operators, construction workers, painters, and locksmiths).
Last but not least, Alentis’s Environmental Services Department will be in charge of keeping in perfect shape one Real Madrid’s major areas: the grass of the Bernabéu stadium, the pitches of Ciudad Real Madrid, and the Alfredo Distéfano mini stadium, 6 natural grass pitches, 6 artificial turf pitches, and 25,000 square metres of gardens. A team of 23 professionals specialising in pitch grass and an engineer will be dedicated to keeping all these facilities close to perfection. In line with this, Alentis is carrying out tests with the Valencia Institute of Biomechanics to incorporate grass care technological devices, such as the Clegg impact soil tester (to scan soil hardness and compaction and energy return), the torsion meter (to determine grass torque), a turf placing machine (to replace damaged areas), and a high-quality manufacturing machine. These are complemented by a quality system to control general pitch maintenance, which results in an integrated service that is unique in Spain.

Agreement with Expo Hoteles & Resorts
In December, Grupo Alentis signed a contract to provide security and auxiliary services in the three hotels owned by the hotel chain Expo Hoteles & Resorts in Barcelona: the Princesa Sofía (five-stars), the Torre Catalunya (four stars), and the Expo Hotel Barcelona (four stars). The services will be provided by Vinsa and V-2, respectively.
