Training in New Fire-Fighting Equipment in Correos

Tepesa Alentis, a company of the CEOSA Alentis Group, specialized in fire-fighting training, has initiated staff training at the Correos Group, Spanish leader in the postal sector for the non-urgent transportation of documents and goods. Over the forthcoming months, it will run 12 courses for its Back-Up Fire Response Teams, which are made up of staff working at the Correos management offices and transport and warehouse facilities.

The 12 courses, which will be held on the mainland as well as in the Balearic Islands, will each last 16 hours, for a total of 280 students.  In addition to the theory and laboratory parts, participants will practice in real emergency situations at the Tepesa Alentis state-of-the-art training centre in Brunete (Madrid). They will face situations such as horizontal spillages, gas induced fire, spillages with obstacles, confined fire, etc., as well as the handling of fire hydrants, rescue of injured persons in flooded or smoke-filled areas and penetration, ventilation and extinguishing techniques. The aim is to train staff of these response units, who are called in for emergency situations that cannot be controlled by the First Response Team. Tepesa will train them until next November to ensure their effective, rapid and coordinated response, using all of the available fire-fighting resources.

Following the first training day, Alentis has been praised by the heads of the Correos Group, for this global solution in theoretical/practical fire-fighting training, in which Atlentis is responsible for all of the course organization and logistics. This is yet another service offered by the Alentis Group, specialized in business services with over 19,000 professionals throughout Spain. Its activity is divided into six core business lines: Environmental Management, Maintenance of Buildings, Cleaning, Security, Auxiliary Services (assistants and temporary staff) and Technology (with surveillance systems and, as in the case Tepesa, training in fire prevention, consultancy and a driving school).
