On 23 May, Eduardo González, CEOSA Finance and Investments Director collected the prize awarded to the ONCE Business Corporation at the “3rd Alfa Romeo-IESE Awards” for 2006, which were presented at the Business School campus. The prizes are awarded each year to the five most outstanding national organisations for particularly flexible and responsible business conduct, emphasising the maintenance of a dynamic business profile, balanced with an adequate social contribution. This year, in addition to CEOSA, of the 20 big companies that were named as finalists, Abertis, Acciona, Ferrovial and Iberdrola were honoured.

The growth strategy of the finalists was assessed, based on their balanced diversification and their international presence. Innovation and coherence in an effective acquisitions policy were other key considerations. Furthermore, the social dimension of the respective businesses was taken into account, evaluating their environmental policies, contribution to job creation (with particular emphasis on aspects of work balance and social commitment), as well as the existence of ethical principles regulating their business conduct.
