“Organis-action”: XIVth CEOSA Corporate Conference.

19/12/2007

CEOSA managers and Corporate Centre experts met at the XIVth Corporate Conference held at the Confortel Islantilla.

From 24 until 27 October, the Confortel Islantilla hotel in Huelva was the venue for the 14th corporate conference which, under the generic title of "Organis-action" brought together 130 delegates made up of CEOSA top management, company managers and Corporate Centre experts.
On this occasion, corporate issues relating to the analysis of the ONCE group companies’ evolution in 2007 were presented along with future objectives, Human Resources  aims and the strategic plan for 2008-2011.
The opening conference featured Andrés Ramos Vázquez, deputy vice-president of the ONCE board, José María Arroyo, president of the group and Enrique Servando Sánchez, the managing director.
The CEOSA president welcomed the delegates and briefly summarised the economic performance of both the Corporation as a whole and of each of the individual companies, “always referring to the primary objective set out for CEOSA by our shareholder, ONCE: to obtain profit to support the group’s assets”. Arroyo announced to the Corporation managers that in 2007 the Corporation anticipates achieving record profit after tax of more than 39 million euros (pre-tax profit being 58.8 million euros), exceeding the initial forecasts by 5 million euros and doubling last year’s profits, “the majority of our companies –stated José María Arroyo- have exceeded initial expectations”.
The fact that CEOSA belongs to the ONCE Group will contribute over 57 million euros to our institution in the 2006-2007 period, which together with the 18 million euros from 2004-2005, makes a total of around 75 million euros for the 2004-2007 period between increased assets and donations made by the Corporation in favour of the ONCE.
Meanwhile, the ONCE vice-president emphasised the importance of dynamism in the business world, as well as organisational ability. He highlighted the spectacular end of year results forecast for 2007 and encouraged a continuation of the current line of work since – in the words of Andrés Ramos - “...The business world is very tough, and what works today ceases to work after six months and we can never rest on our laurels; we must always be aware of the profit and loss account, of the market...”
Finally, Enrique Servando Sánchez, managing director of CEOSA, expressed his appreciation for the support his group of companies has received from the ONCE board ever since it was founded.
Sánchez summarised the fundamental topics which have affected all of the CEOSA companies in 2007: the main short-term financial magnitudes, budgetary fulfilment, the expectations for 2008, as well as a comparative analysis of the situation of all of the companies with the sector in which they operate.
The conference also enabled Raquel Gómez, Corporate Organisation and Human Resources Manager and Eduardo González, CEOSA Finance and Investments Manager, to carry out an exhaustive analysis of the situation of the companies in their respective areas. The section related specifically to the Corporation finished with a case study on the “opening team”, managed by Norberto León, Confortel hotel Operations Manager.
The XIVth CEOSA Corporate Conference closed with a joint presentation on the topic “Managing the Imperfect” by Javier Fernández Aguado, Head of the General Management Department at the European Forum and Juan Mateo Díaz, President and Founding Member of Training Lab.
