The Confortel Pío XII hotel in Madrid has been fully renovated to become accessible, more modern, and suitable for corporate events or needs. In line with this, the reception and lobby have been turned into an exclusive area offering Internet access, and the cafeteria, restaurant and guestrooms have been refurbished in a modern style.
 
These renovations have led the Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification, AENOR, to grant the Pío XII its Accessibility Certification and thus turn it into the first tourism establishment in Spain to get this recognition. Moreover, CUATRO TV’s news shows and “EN OTRAS PALABRAS” (In Other Words), broadcast by TVE2, aired programmes covering the Pío XII’s new accessible facilities.
