Last October, the first fair dedicated exclusively to accessible tourism, the ”Accessible Holiday Show” was held in the United Kingdom and Confortel Hoteles was present with a stand.

There were a considerable number of Spanish exhibitors, which, beyond the logical competition between destinations and/or service providers, demonstrates the Spanish tourism sector's interest and efforts to satisfy the demands of customers with special needs in an increasingly competitive global market.

Though certain isolated initiatives offering accessible resources for people with disabilities are known in the countries from which visitors could potentially come, it was clear that there was a considerable lack of knowledge and great demand for information on Spain as a tourist destination, where it is increasingly possible to choose facilities that meet accessibility requirements, offering quality as a differentiating factor.
