More “Accessible Holidays” this Summer
Over 1,000 people suffering from physical and intellectual disabilities, mental illness and autism disorders will enjoy accessible holidays this summer thanks to the Viajes AcceSIbles (www.viajes2000accesibles.es) reservations-for-all web-site, the Viajes 2000 agency’s tourist web-site which aims to promote the social inclusion of disabled persons and their families through leisure. This year’s national destinations offered by Viajes AcceSIbles include the Canary Islands (Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Lanzarote), Balearic Islands (Ibiza and Majorca), Catalonia (Barcelona and Salou), Asturias (La Isla and Villaviciosa), Galicia (Sanxenxo and Cuntis), Andalusia (Almuñécar, Roquetas de Mar and Alcossebre) and the Levante coast (Peñíscola, Benidorm, La Manga and Gandía). There are also foreign destinations, such as London and Prague. More specifically, people from the disabled world are participating in this inclusive initiative this year, such as the Spanish Autism Confederation, ASPACE (for sufferers of cerebral palsy) and FEAFES (relatives and sufferers of mental illness).
