VIAJES 2000 at EXPOTURAL

From the 29th of September to the 2nd of October, Viajes 2000 attended the 11th Rural Tourism Development Fair, “Expotural 2005”, held in Madrid. This event brought together professionals in this important, and expanding, sector. The main objective of our agency’s participation was to find out more about the possibilities that this segment can offer the public in general and people with special needs in particular.

The institutional coordination director, Jorge A. Piñeiro, participated in the round table that took place at this fair, under the name “Accessibility – a social commitment, a business opportunity”, a subject in which our travel agency is a reference in the sector.

Viajes 2000 will also be responsible for the presentation “The Role Played by Travel Agencies in Tourism for All”, which will be given during the Inclusive Tourism and Accessibility Congress, to be held in Candeleda (Ávila) from the 6th to the 8th of October. Once again, Jorge A. Piñeiro, along with his team from the Accessibility Department, will be able to present the different initiatives currently being developed by our travel agency in this regard, as well as its contacts with the different associations.

One example of advances within this project is the trip recently organised by the Seville office for the ACPACYS Association in Córdoba, permitting a group of forty people with special needs to enjoy a holiday in Paris, including a visit to Eurodisney.

Finally, we would like to highlight an important operation secured by our office in Barcelona with “Volkswagen”, by means of which Viajes 2000 will be responsible for organising an incentive trip for the car company’s sales network, with 800 people in eight different groups travelling to Kenya, where they will be able to do activities such as photo safaris, visits to native villages, etc.

VIAJES 2000 AND THE ELDERLY
As has become usual after the summer season, Viajes 2000 is now working on the Autumn 2005 programme “Social Holidays for ONCE Pensioners and Elderly Members”, organised by the Directorate General of the entity and managed by the travel agency of the ONCE Business Corporation.

This season, our elderly people will be able to choose among the following destinations: Roquetas de Mar (Almería), S´Agaró (Gerona), Benidorm (Alicante), Almuñecar (Granada) Fuengirola (Málaga), Salou (Tarragona), Gijón (Asturias), Torremolinos (Málaga) Palma de Mallorca, Balneario de Fortuna (Murcia), Balneario de Ledesma (Salamanca), Islantilla (Huelva) and the combination Badajoz – Huelva.

Anyone wanting further information can contact the different ONCE registration centres.
